ISP Usage Forges Ahead of Portals as More People Go Online at Home

ISP sites toppled portals at the top of the Jupiter MMXI category rankings for the first time since the research company began measuring the UK at-home interact landscape in October 1999.

Despite the recent consolidations, acquisitions and threatened closures of some of the biggest brands within this sector, the UK ISP category continues to grow, showing that at-home internet take-up is still developing.

Perhaps the biggest story to break within the sector over the past six months has been the sale of Freeserve.com, the UK's biggest ISP, to French counterpart Wannadoo.
