Pape & Associates, a Wheaton counseling agency, turns 20 this year.
Founded in 1981 by Pat Pape, the operation has grown from one part-time associate working with Pape to a thriving practice with 10 associates seeing clients in Wheaton, Schaumburg and Geneva.
The services offered by the practice include individual and group psychotherapy, family and couples counseling, divorce mediation, as well as alcohol and drug dependency assessment and treatment.
Pape & Associates also provides employee assistance programs for employers on contract.
The anniversary celebration is especially sweet for Pape after surviving as an independent business, despite all the consolidation in the healthcare field prompted by managed care, according to a statement from Pape.
Pape & Associates is celebrating the milestone with a Nov. 2 open house from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at main office, 618 S. West St., in Wheaton. The number there is (630) 668-8710.
The practice also has an office at 2040 E. Algonquin Road in Schaumburg and at 825 W. State St. in Geneva.
