For the past three years, Kim Tracanna has racked up a slew of awards for being among Florida's best in the business of teaching physical education.
The latest honor came in October, when the Lakeside Elementary School physical education instructor was recognized by the Florida Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, a professional association, for outstanding programs, creativity and innovation.
But she would rather talk about her students.
"None of these things ever mattered," she said. "Just so I can do my job . . . to keep on being able to do what I do."
