League unit meetings set: The topic of March unit meetings of the League of Women Voters of Lane County will be "Our Latino Neighbors."

In an effort to better understand the growing Latino community in Lane County, the league is conducting interviews with Latinos, social service organizations, school administrators and teachers, health service providers and community leaders.

March meetings will be:

Today - 1 p.m., 2050 Goodpasture Loop, No. 21, 431-4906.

Adoption meeting to be held: A free adoption information meeting will be held Monday for families interested in adopting a child from overseas.

The basic procedure will be outlined and a family who has adopted through Holt International Children's Services will share their experience and answer questions.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Holt office, 1195 City View St. For more information, call Becky Noah at 607-0831.

WAND leaders to speak: Bobbie Wrenn-Banks and Elizabeth Chesnut, national leaders of Women's Action for New Directions, will be guest speakers Sunday at Mother Kali's Books, 720 E. 13th Ave.

Their presentation will be "Passionate Pens: Women Rewriting the Budget to Reflect our Needs and Values."
