Teen girls (age 14-17) rate intelligence over beauty, but those who are happiest with their appearance are most likely to be confident in other areas of their lives as well, according to an online study by The Geppetto Group. Over two thirds (68%) of female teens are happy with their looks, and less than two in 10(17%) describe themselves as unhappy with how they look.

Those who are somewhat or extremely happy with their looks are likely to display confidence in other areas of their life as well: 61% of these girls consider themselves popular with their peers, compared with 42% of girls who are less happy with their looks (includes somewhat or extremely unhappy or neither happy nor unhappy). Girls who are happy with their appearance are less likely to feel extremely stressed on an average day (6% of happy with looks versus 19% of less happy with looks) or to be constantly worried about the future (11% of happy with looks versus 26% of less happy with looks).
