IN an effort to ensure that staff have a better understanding of the differing needs of the diverse communities they serve South Wales Police has set up a programme of "service delivery training".
The aim is to give employees an understanding of these needs and to emphasise that things may not always be straightforward.
Inspector Steve Parry, head of diversity training, said the course aims to encourage students to think about others and discuss issues in relation to people with disabilities (physical and mental), cultural differences (colour and race) and sexual orientation.
