Wednesday at Fields of Dreams was "Barrington Youth Baseball/ Softball Day."
The public address speaker asked trivia questions throughout the game between the host Fillies and Fremd.
Aspiring young Fillies who gave correct answers received 12-inch softballs signed by all the Barrington softball players.
"We like to do anything that gives back to the community," said Fillies coach Perry Peterson.
In addition to the softballs, the Fillies also gave their fans another win, the 19th of the season without a loss. For the first time since 1997, the Fillies defeated the Vikings at the Fields of Dreams.
Sophomore Samantha Deevy (10-0) tossed a 6-hitter as the Fillies came away with an 8-2 triumph over the two-time defending Mid- Suburban West champs.
