The Land Transportation Office (LTO) geared up yesterday for more efficient service in the issuance of drivers' licenses, registration of vehicles, and other duties as it celebrated the third day of its foundation week at its offices in Quezon City.
Assistant Transportation Secretary and LTO Chief Roberto Lastimoso directed all LTO personnel to further expedite the processing of drivers' licenses, registration of motor vehicles, evaluation of documentary requirements, collection of fees, and issuance of plates and stickers.
Lastimoso warned that fixers are banned from all offices of the LTO and will be dealt with accordingly if they are caught interfering with the work of LTO personnel.
He said red tape has been completely eliminated in all LTO by laying down the definite time frame by which all documents and requirements must be acted upon and completed.
"We give our personnel the necessary deadline if the situation calls for it," Lastimoso said. …
