RANGERS youth boss John Brown has tipped Daniel Fortunata to make the big breakthrough at Ibrox next season.
The Italian kid joined Rangers early last season and has already been compared to World Cup star Rino Gattuso.
Walter Smith snapped up Gattuso in 1997 for free before the competitive midfielder moved onto Salerintana and AC Milan.
Dick Advocaat sold Gattuso to make way for Barry Ferguson but Brown is hoping to see Fergie and Fortunata in action together next season.
Brown said: "Daniel has got a bit of the Rino about him and he certainly didn't do too badly for us.
Daniel actually joined us as a central defender but we;ve moved him forward into midfield and the way he goes about his business does remind me of Rino. I certainly have high hopes for him."
Brown's Under18 side completed a memorable season by clinching the league and cup double.
And graduates from the Rangers youth ranks like Maurice Ross, Stephen Hughes and Bob Malcolm have all made an impact at first team level.
Ross won his first full cap against South Korea on Thursday and Hughes is tipped to follow his team mate into the international scene.
Gers boss Alex McLeish has vowed to give the kids a chance and Brown expects some of them to be pushing hard for first team recognition next season.
Rangers finished the season with a 1-1 draw at Dunfermline last Sunday but more importantly was the names on the team sheet.
