Secretary Leandro B. Mendoza of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) warned officials and employes of the department yesterday any involvement in graft and corruption.
"We will not tolerate these kinds of officials and employes," Mendoza said, adding that reforms are now being instituted in the DoTC to make the system there clean and graft-free.
Mendoza said that the DoTC and its agencies are the third top income generating agency of the government. "In view of this, some officials and employees are involved in the anomalous transactions," he said.
"We have now a campaign to get rid of personnel involved in questionable transactions and we are confident that their practice will stop," Mendoza said.
He said the DoTC is generating P9 billion in revenues annually, after the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and the Bureau of Customs (BoC), the top two revenue earners of the government.
