VIOLENT crime is the most common crime committed by young people in Warwickshire, a new report shows.
The amount of violent crime involving people aged between 16 and 20 is more than twice that of vehicle crime and about five times that of domestic burglary.
The shock figures are revealed in a crime and truancy report compiled by the county council.
Over the financial year 2001/2002, offenders aged between 16 and 20 account for nearly 800 incidents of violent crime, compared with about 350 for auto crime and about 150 for domestic burglary.
