THE former legal director of the WDA Roy Thomas has taken up a new role as a partner with fast-growing corporate and commercial law firm M&A.
Mr Thomas, who spent nine years with the agency, has been given the remit of establishing a strong public sector client base for the Cardiff-based firm.
M&A, established by former Evershed lawyers Steve Berry and Alan Whiteley in 1999, now acts for many of the leading companies in Wales including IQE, Biotrace and Peters Food Services.
It also has a close working relationship with Cardiff-based corporate finance specialists Gambit, which has engineered a wide range of innovative funding packages for companies across Europe.
Mr Thomas said, ``I am fortunate to be joining a talented team with entrepreneurial spirit, which gives a commitment to first-class service.'' And he stressed that his departure from the WDA was an amicable affair.
So far this year the agency has seen a number of high-profile departures, including former director of communications Bet Davies and more recently finance director Richard Beaumont, who was respected for his hands on approach within the National Assembly-funded enterprise organisation. …
