Latham & Watkins, the global law firm, has hired Chris McFadzean as a partner from Linklaters in a further boost to its strategy of building up its UK capital markets practice.The new business will focus on global capital markets and emerging market investment and securities transactions. McFadzean's experience includes capital markets, banking and privatisations where he has advised issuers, governments and underwriters throughout the world.
David Miles, London managing partner, said: "Our clients are increasingly looking for a 'one-stop shop' for European cross-border capital markets transactions. We have a strong capital markets practice in the US and we are now looking to build in Europe."
In September Latham & Watkins hired Lloyd Schultz and Lene Malthasen to expand its debt and equity capital markets practice in London.
