The new consumer section of the Red Meat Industry Forum (RMIF) website will give every part of the meat supply chain - farmers, processors, retailers and caterers - a one-stop-shop access to the most accurate, up-to-date information on the red meat market, consumer preferences and buying habits.
RMIF Consumer Working Group member and Meat and Livestock Commission marketing director, Richard Lowe, said: "The individual farmer or processor can now know as much or more about their end customer as a butcher, restaurateur or supermarket buyer.
