IT'S A BAD HAIR DAY FOR RED-FACED SAID
EVERTON new boy Ibrahim Said turned the air blue at Goodison last week when he turned up with his hair dyed RED.
Egyptian star Said is a colourful character with a reputation in his homeland for eccentric David James-style barnets.
But Said had obviously not been told that one particular shade is definitely off-limits on his new half of Merseyside.
Said was stunned at the reaction of his team-mates when he turned up to see his first game last Saturday with the wrong hairdo.
His red dreadlocks caused such a fuss that Everton officials had to find him a hat - quickly - and order him to keep it on.
He was then told to sit in the stands. The North African ace was also told in no uncertain terms to get his hair re-dyed.
Said - who apologised for his bad hair day - has since been spotted with light brown dreadlocks.
The Egyptian has now realised that the only man allowed with red hair is boss David Moyes and that is his own natural ginger.
JAMIE Carragher is having a pounds 1million mansion built on the same road as Steven Gerrard, in the up-market area of Blundellsands.
They won't be the only footballing neighbours on Merseyside - just down the road you'll find Duncan Ferguson living next door to Everton pal Alan Stubbs.
OVERHEARD in the gents toilets of a plush London hotel: England's Swedish boss Sven Goran Eriksson bemoaning the fact the outstanding Thierry Henry was born in Paris not Peckham.
Bowyer's pre-match session
LEE BOWYER was seen preparing for his second game in West Ham colours at Arsenal last Sunday - with a tough session in the local Chinese restaurant, close to his pounds 600,000 Docklands apartment.
Confidential's spies spotted Bowyer having a quiet evening with friends, before retiring nice
and early for his date with Dennis Bergkamp's elbow.
It's a good job he stayed out of his local McDonalds, infamous location of his 'run in' with an employee some time ago.
PAUL GASCOIGNE has been offered a chance to play out his days - alongside Matt Le Tissier - at Eastleigh.
