Collier officials have found a firm to help chart the future course of its parks and recreation areas.
Commissioners unanimously approved negotiations for a contract with Pashek Associates to develop the township's comprehensive recreation, park and open space plan.
Collier received three proposals from consultants interested in spearheading the project. They were interviewed by the parks and recreation board and a 15-member study group in November.
Pashek Associates, a landscape architects and community planners firm, was recommended by the seven-member recreation board. The group advises the board of commissioners in providing park and recreation services to residents.
Commission President Roger Horgan said the board would vote on approving a contract with Pashek Associates on a future date.
The recreation plan is intended to map out how parks and potential green space will be used in the coming years. It will conduct an inventory of Collier's facilities and ensure that future recreation areas are developed while maintaining the rural character of the township. …
