Dunbar Marks Its 125th Birthday

With old favorites returning and new traditions being planned, the 2008 Dunbar Community Fest will celebrate the borough's 125th anniversary.

The Dunbar Historical Society has set Sept. 27 as the date for this year's annual festival. The theme is "Celebrating Dunbar Borough's 125 Years."

Representatives from Harrisburg will attend the festival, where a proclamation will be read in honor of the borough's anniversary.

The historical society, sponsor of the festival, has ordered three cases of mugs signifying the anniversary. They will feature the Dunbar sign as well as the year of Dunbar's birth --1883.
