State Rep. Anastasia Pittman, D-Oklahoma City, has a bachelor's degree in journalism/public relations from the University in Oklahoma and a master's in urban education and behavioral science from Langston University.
For more than two decades, Pittman has impacted the lives of youth and adults as an educator, case manager and radio talk show host.
She is the founder of the Magic Star Foundation, which promotes educational, leadership, social and spiritual skills through prevention and intervention. Her contributions have earned her the Unity in the Community State Award from the Oklahoma Federal Executive Board as well as recognition by the administration of President Bill Clinton for her outstanding leadership and volunteer services to her community.
Pittman is a local radio personality on the Anastasia Pittman Show and was awarded the Lecia D. Swain/Theodis Payne Media Award from the Oklahoma City branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for her cutting-edge information as a weekend warrior by keeping her community informed.
