BERMUDA'S ANNUAL open tournament started yesterday, and was preceded this year by two 10-player all-play-alls.
The star of the show was the youngest player of all, International Master Hikaru Nakamuru from the United States, who turned 14 last December. He led the Grandmaster A tournament by himself with a round to go, and drew in the last round as Black against Polish GM Bartlomiej Macieja to record a GM norm and share first on 6/9 with the Norwegian IM Leif Erlend Johannessen (who obviously also got a GM norm) and Brazilian GM Giovanni Vescovi.
