How to use the listings to find a job
Every week an easy to use comprehensive list of teaching vacancies will be included in the Education Supplement, produced in association with Eteach UK, the leading teacher recruitment website. The listings are designed to make finding a job as easy and efficient as possible. They give the essential information about each vacancy, in the following order:
V School Phase: nursery, primary, middle, secondary, independent, special, LEA, college.
V Local education authority: see map on page 9. V Subjects: these are listed with senior posts listed as Management (Mangr) at the start of the list (see "subjects", below, for abbreviations).
V Town: as space is restricted in the listings, town names may occasionally be abbreviated.
V School: as space is restricted in the listings, again names may occasionally be abbreviated.
V Post: details of the teaching post are given (see "posts", below, for abbreviations).
V Full time or part time
V Pay scale: details of the pay scales are given (see "pay scales", below, for abbreviations).
V Closing date: this gives the latest date that applications may be received. After this date, they will be removed from The Independent's listings and from Eteach's website.
V Start date: the date when the teaching post starts.
V Job ID: the unique identity number that you will need to use in order to see the full job …
