Resurrection of the week
The former Communist leader Josip Tito (right) has been proposed as a presidential candidate in Serbia's forthcoming elections, despite being dead for 22 years. The student-led Otpor, or Resistance, political movement says his ghost would be better than any living politician. The group is trying to gather 10,000 signatures to support the proposal.
Jobsworth of the week
ROBERTO BAGGIO has had his ball taken off him by an officious beach attendant. The incident happened as the former Italian national striker was showing off his control to holidaymakers on a beach in Liguria, Italy. The attendant snatched the ball off him saying that football was not allowed by beach rules.
Distraction of the week
THE GREEK national football coach demanded that waitresses at the team hotel in Romania be replaced by men so his players wouldn't be distracted. The Greek team was in Constanta to play a friendly against Romania but Otto Rehhagel noticed the players were becoming too interested in the waitresses serving lunch the day before. …
