E One of the stealthiest of car taxes is the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency's charge for personalised registration numbers. Last year they sold 188,816 of them and, at a minimum of pounds 250 and with the latest number/letter combinations starting at pounds 499, it confirms our stupidity.
