C4 romps home: Channel 4 were the big winners at the Broadcasting Press Guild Television and Radio Awards, taking six out of 10 categories. The comedy drama Shameless, the reality show Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and the poignant documentary The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off were among the victors.
Time to switch: The Labour Party has made its first public commitment to switching off analogue television. In its election manifesto, Labour claims that they 'will achieve digital switchover between 2008 and 2012,' a move that may cost up to pounds 7bn. SwitchCo, the organisation formed to aid switchover, started work last week on its plans to meet the 2012 target.
Cleared: The two Sunday Telegraph journalists arrested in Zimbabwe two weeks ago have been cleared of working illegally in the country. Foreign correspondent Toby Harnden and photographer Julian Simmonds still face a charge of overstaying their visas.
