Juventus have joined the race to sign Edu despite rumours he is close to signing a three-year deal with La Liga side Valencia. Quincy Owusu-Abeyie has been cleared by police for his alleged involvement in a fight outside a Central London bar following the PFA awards on Sunday. Dado Prso's agent claims Villa are one of a number of clubs trying to sign the 30-year-old Rangers striker. 'It's not just Aston Villa but two or three clubs,' he said. Sheffield United vice- chairman Terry Robinson says Phil Jagielka will not join Villa this summer. 'As far as we know Aston Villa have been interested in Jagielka for the last two or three years,' he said. 'But we are aiming to get promotion to the Premier League and you don't do that by getting rid of your best players.'
BIRMINGHAM (13th, 39pts)
Clinton Morrison is considering his future at Birmingham after losing his place to on-loan striker Walter Pandiani. 'In the summer I will have a decision to make,' he said. 'Maybe I will have to move on, but I hope not. I love Birmingham and I want to stay, but it is important for me to be playing at this time of my career. The only way I will sign is if I am going to be playing football.' Birmingham have been linked with Sao Paulo's Brazilian international defender Cicinho, who is also wanted by Porto.
BLACKBURN (12th, 41pts)
Robbie Savage will not play against his old club Birmingham due to a gentleman's agreement made at the time of his transfer. The Premier League blocked any formal clause stating he could not take part in the fixture, but Blackburn verbally agreed to the demand. Savage was a doubt anyway with an on-going groin niggle. Rovers' potential summer target, striker Delron Buckley, has snubbed a move to Ewood Park to sign for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
BOLTON (6th, 54pts)
Experienced duo Vincent Candela and Fernando Hierro are set to extend their contracts to the end of next season. Both players' current deals expire this summer, but Sam Allardyce is keen to retain his current squad for the expected European campaign next season, and is due to open talks with them soon. Bruno N'Gotty was named the Supporters Association player of the year on Wednesday. Bolton will take on Dutch side Feyenoord while on their tour of the Far East in July.

Alan Curbishley appears to face competition from Middlesbrough for the signature of Bolton's Tunisian defender Radhi Jaidi. The Addicks are reported to be planning a friendly against Ruud Gullit's Feyenoord at the Valley in August. Dennis Rommedahl says Charlton fans will see the best of him next season. 'This season has been difficult for me,' he said. 'But next year will be normal, because I would have settled and got used to playing against the players I have come up against this season.'

The Spanish newspaper Marca has revealed that Barcelona's Xavi is on the verge of a pounds 16m move to Chelsea. Jose Mourinho is said to be prepared to offer a pounds 4m salary on a four-year deal. PSV Eindhoven manager Guus Hiddink has confirmed the club will consider a move for Mateja Kezman in the summer. Kezman has struggled to replicate the form he showed at PSV last season, and has expressed an interest in returning to the club. Frank Lampard has been named the PFA Fans Player of the Year.
