This is the second posthumous book by Powell to appear' the first being the brief, aphoristic A Writer's Notebook in the year of his death, 2000. It was stuffed with Powell's half-humorous, half- caustic observations and dry wisdom, such as "The strength of the Jews lies in the despair of those who know they will not be left in peace" or "Was Raffles just a kleptomaniac?".
