PERHAPS he was feeling out of sorts after police seized his so- called gorilla coat.
Whatever the reason, trout-faced transvestite Pete Burns dramatically raised the temperature on Big Brother last night when he made a spectacular and unprovoked attack on fellow housemate Traci Bingham, 38.
In only 10 vicious minutes he reduced the former Baywatch star to tears, prompting the question: Is this the biggest bitch on television? He called her a "whore", said everything she stood for was "repulsive" and suggested she only ever got parts because of the size of her breasts. What's more, he said, once gravity took its toll her career would come to a standstill.
Traci - one of three contestants up for eviction, along with Rula Lenska and Maggot - kept her cool during the attack. But as soon as Burns, 46, flounced out of the room, she burst into tears. The attack came after police seized the singer's coat, which he had claimed was made from gorilla fur. He was warned he could face prison if it was made from the skin of an endangered species.
However after the coat was examined by experts, Hertfordshire Constabulary's wildlife officer, Sergeant Jamie Bartlett, said: "We are quite happy that the coat is not gorilla and we are not looking at offences." Whether the unwelcome attention was what made Burns turn on Traci is open to question.
But he attacked her with a venom that left viewers reeling with shock.
"You're a dumbo," he said. "You're an LA whore.
