The Oklahoma Humanities Council's mission is to promote meaningful public engagement with the humanities, including the disciplines of literature, history, philosophy and art criticism. Over the last four decades, the council has accomplished its mission through statewide programming, such as reading and discussion programs, traveling museum exhibits, publications and programs for K- 12 teachers and students. The Oklahoma Humanities Council also grants funds to other nonprofits in the state to support local programming based in humanities disciplines.
