Kirkpatrick Bank buys artOKLAHOMA CITY - Kirkpatrick Bank has purchased art from three local artists.
Art from two of the artists has been delivered to the bank's office at 15 E. 15th St. in Edmond. The art will be hung at four branches in Edmond and Oklahoma City. The three artists are Suzanne Peck, Romy Owens and Chad Mount.
The art pieces range from abstract inspirations to gray Oklahoma landscapes to colorfully sewn photographs.
Heritage Trust adds two staff membersOKLAHOMA CITY - Heritage Trust Company has hired Jeff Asher and Matt McCombs and promoted Scott Cravens.
Asher joined Heritage Trust as a senior portfolio manager. Asher was a trader at Franklin Templeton, a portfolio manager in the trust department of Bank of America and portfolio manager and investment analyst for Atlanta-based investment managers.
Asher is a graduate of Florida State University. He holds the chartered financial analyst designation.
McCombs joined Heritage Trust as an oil and gas property manager after serving as an intern in the oil and gas department. His was a landman for Consul Properties and RedSky Land. McCombs is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and received his juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Cravens was promoted to vice president, real estate manager with Heritage Trust.
Cravens is a graduate of Oklahoma State University. He also holds his juris doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law.
Thurman gets award for financial planningOKLAHOMA CITY - Randy L. Thurman, president of Retirement Investment Advisors Inc. in Oklahoma City, received the highest financial planning award from the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants at the OSCPA's Financial Planning Conference in Oklahoma City.
Thurman earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and a master of business administration degree in Finance from Oklahoma State University. He attended the College for Financial Planning in Denver and became a certified financial planner in 1988. In 1992, Thurman became a certified public accountant and in 2007 became a personal financial specialist.
After earning his master's of business administration at OSU, Thurman served as vice president of the commercial loan department at Southwestern Bank & Trust for two years. In 1990, Thurman became the president and owner of the Financial Planning Company of Oklahoma, where he was licensed as a registered investment advisor and life insurance agent. Since 1997, Thurman's been the co- president and CFO of Retirement Investment Advisors, where he helps manage more than $350 million in assets.

Foundations in Personal Finance is a curriculum for teaching financial literacy to students using interactive learning. Ramsey developed Foundations in Personal Finance to teach students financial principles so they can avoid financial difficulties as they become adults.
