HISTORY: It's the business school of Coventry University, which has taught business studies since the early Sixties. A Faculty of Business was formed in 1987; the current incarnation followed in 1990.
ADDRESS: The business school's main base is the William Morris Building in the central campus.
AMBIENCE: The building dates to 1916. William Morris bought it in 1923 for making car engines. Acquired by the university about a decade ago, its top two floors had been destroyed by a fire in 1964. These were rebuilt and the whole space refurbished to include computer labs, lecture theatres and specialist post-graduate teaching facilities.
VITAL STATISTICS: 4,000 students on undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses. Offers MBAs in international business, finance and marketing as well as a general award, taking 200 full-time and part-time students. All MBA students take core subject areas including business environment, human resource management, and methods of management research. The school has an LLM in business law as well as an MBA in sport management.
