At 7 p.m. Saturday, during the ninth annual Red Tie Night in the Myriad Convention Center Ballroom, the Oklahoma AIDS Care Fund will recognize the late Richard May with an inaugural award given in his name.
The annual honor will recognize an individual who has given of his time and talents in promoting education, research and service regarding HIV/AIDS. The first recipients will be Sunshine Schillings, director of the Red Rock Mental Health Center's Behavioral Services Positive Living Program, and Joan Foreman, the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network's Western Oklahoma coordinator. May, an Oklahoma City interior designer who died in March 2000, was a founding member of the board.
