Harper's victory was tainted, achieved with the help of RCMP Commissioner Giuliano Zaccardeli.
Zaccardeli sent a letter to NDP MP Judy Wasylycia-Leis on December 23, 2005, announcing that the RCMP "will be commencing a criminal investigation" into alleged leaks about the Liberal government's policy decision on income trusts, leading to possible insider trading.
