Teachers fall into three broad categories: disheartened, contented and idealists
A NEW SURVEY of the country's teachers finds that those in the classroom naturally fall into three broad categories in their attitudes toward the profession: disheartened, contented and idealists.
The disheartened group makes up about 40 percent of those surveyed, according to Public Agenda and Learning Point Associates, the two nonprofit research firms that conducted the nationwide survey.
