The GRAMMY Foundation® has awarded the CBMR one of nine grants given in 2010 to recipients in the United States, Canada, and the Dominican Republic. The CBMR's grant will help preserve and make accessible to the public a unique collection of in-depth interviews with 100 important Jamaican studio musicians, arrangers, and vocalists. The collection was donated to the CBMR by its owner, CBMR Director of Research Kenneth Bilby, who conducted and assembled the interviews as part of an oral history project on Jamaican music funded by a Guggenheim fellowship during 20042005.
