The Journal of Professional Counseling, Practice, Theory, and Research (JPC) is a national journal abstracted in EBSCO. The transition to a national journal began in 2005 when the Texas Counseling Association was recognized for the Best Branch Journal Award. Robinson (2005 ) wrote:

Given our goals for The Journal, we will no longer enter this competition. The Journal has become more than a 'branch journal.' Members of our editorial board hail from around the United States, not just Texas. The Journal is abstracted and indexed by EBSCO and, most recently, it has been assigned an ISSN number by the Library of Congress (p. 3).
