Killian Bridging Markets at Peregrine Financial Group

Trading Places Chicago-based Peregrine Financial Group Inc. has a new task and a distinct man for the job. Michael Killian joined the company in mid-November as senior vice president of the broker-dealer division.

"This is a very exciting time because what security futures are believed to be going to do is bridge the gap between the derivatives world and the stocks world," Killian says.

Killian says PFG has set itself up to be an education broker and it's his duty to build the broker dealer relationship side of PFG that involves establishing alliances in the United States and overseas with regional and sub-regional broker dealers and futures commission merchants (FCM). According to Killian, those broker dealers are either in the securities side looking to the futures side for incremental value they can bring to their clients, or they're on the FCM side and would like to have some of the opportunities that the securities world offers.

"It's a very exciting new dimension for investors," Killian says. "They now have more tools to manage risk."

Killian has 27 years of experience in investment and trading, including combat duty at Barings Japan. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago in Finance and Human Behavior. He previously was president for Introducing Brokers Alliance Inc. BrokerTec Futures Exchange appointed as its chairman Dennis Scurletis, currently a managing director at Morgan Stanley, and as its vice chairman Michael Dawley, current vice president of global futures services at Goldman Sachs & Co.

Maryrose Dombrowski has been named vice president and head of cross-marketing at ABN Amro Clearing and Execution Services in Chicago, a division of ABN Amro Inc. She previously was senior vice president at Refco Group Ltd.

Daniel J. Roth has been promoted to president and CEO for the board of the National Futures Association in Chicago. He previously was senior executive vice president and COO.

The London Metal Exchange Ltd. has named John Pizzey chairman of LME Ltd. and LME Holdings Ltd, Pizzey is an executive vice president of Alcoa and an invited trade director of the LME.

Charles-Henry Choel has been hired as corporate development director at GL Trade SA in Paris. Prior to joining the company Choel was Middle East and Mediterranean zones development manager for Paribas Asset Management.

Peter Decrem, former managing director and head of U.S. and Canadian dollar derivatives at Greenwich Capital, joined WestLB New York as managing director for interest rate derivatives in the bank's Global Financial Markets group. …
