The diocese of Rupert's Land looked no further than its own synod office to find its next bishop.
Archdeacon Patrick Lee, 63, executive archdeacon of Rupert's Land since 1991, was elected 11th bishop of the diocese in early March.
He succeeds Archbishop Walter Jones, who retired at the end of last year.
On a beautiful spring - like day, members of the electoral synod chose Archdeacon Lee from a slate of 17 candidates.
