Kolvox Communications Inc. a leading vendor of speech recognition applications software, has released a version of its LawTALK software with a speech recognition interface to WESTLAW, the computer-assisted legal research service from West Publishing. In addition, Kolvox has signed a distribution agreement that will allow legal professionals to purchase LawTALK software with the WESTLAW speech interface through West Publishing and through Kolvox dealers.
A special introductory version of LawTALK with the WESTLAW speech interface, packaged as LawTALK--West Publishing Edition, will be sold to West subscribers at a special introductory price of $995 (U.S.)--45 percent off the regular suggested price--through December 31, 1994.
"The combination of LawTALK and WESTLAW provides legal professionals with a powerful tool to do much of their work by simply talking to their computers in plain English. Significant productivity gains will be realized by professionals who dislike typing, and even those with excellent keyboard skills will benefit from this innovative solution," said Kurt D. Lynn, vice president of Sales and Marketing at Kolvox.
"In addition, our distribution agreement with West Publishing means that legal professionals now can purchase complete Kolvox-West productivity solutions directly from West Publishing, with installation and service provided by Kolvox Professional Speech dealers. Kolvox dealers also will become certified to sell our WESTLAW-related products," Lynn said.
