"However, it has been controlled to a very considerable extent by trial lawyer interests. Trial lawyers dominated for a long time our judicial and legislative process.... It's only in the last election cycle that we got a fairly conservative majority on the Supreme Court:" In fact, he said, Roy Moore, the judge who got into trouble for posting the Ten Commandments and praying in his courtroom, is now chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.
