CHLORPROMAZINE

klōrprämˈəzēnˌ, one of a group of tranquilizing drugs called phenothiazines that are useful in halting psychotic episodes. Chlorpromazine, sold under the trade name Thorazine, is often used to reduce the severe anxiety and agitation and the overactivity of some forms of schizophrenia.
