ECKERMANN, JOHANN PETER
| yōhänˈ pāˈtər ĕkˈərmän, 1792–1854, German scholar and author. He assisted Goethe in various literary labors, was professor of English and German at the Univ. of Jena, and later was librarian at Weimar.
