GARNIERITE

gärˈnēərītˌ, pale apple-green mineral, chemically a hydrous silicate of nickel and magnesium. An important ore of nickel, it is found in New Caledonia, Russia, and S Africa. In the United States it occurs in Oregon and North Carolina.
