JABAL SHAMMAR

jäˈbäl shăˈmər, former emirate, N Saudi Arabia. Its capital was at Hail. In 1921, Ibn Saud conquered the forces of the emir, Ibn Rashid, and annexed the territory to his kingdom of Nejd.
