PROPERTIUS, SEXTUS

sĕkˈstəs prōpûrˈshəs, c.50 b.c.–c.16 b.c., Roman elegiac poet, b. Umbria. He was a member of the circle of Maecenas. A master of the Latin elegy, he wrote with vigor, passion, and sincerity.
