ROZEBEKE

rōˈzəbāˌkə, formerly Roosebeke, village, East Flanders prov., W Belgium, near Oudenaarde. There, in 1382, the French under Olivier de Clisson defeated the Flemings under Philip van Artevelde. The battle restored Louis de Maële's control over the county of Flanders.
