On behalf of the Organizing Committee I am pleased to announce the

IFSAM VIIIth World Congress 2006 hosted by VHB at the Free University of Berlin, Germany, September 28-30, 2006 and the respective Call for Papers under the overall

Conference Theme "Enhancing managerial responsiveness to global challenges".

The International Federation of Scholarly Associations in Management (IFSAM) and the German Association of University Teachers in Management (VHB) invite papers for the above Congress.

Three types of formats--competitive papers, workshops and panels--are accepted for consideration. The major focus will be on competitive paper sessions and four plenary sessions for which we have invited the following eminent executives and scholars as keynote speakers: Klaus Kleinfeld, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Siemens AG, Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. John Dunning, Rutgers University and University of Reading, Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Heribert Meffert, Chairman of the Board, Bertelsmann Foundation, and Professor Rosalie Tung, PhD, Simon Fraser University.

There will also be a Special Forum in which the results of the first genuine global IFSAM research project on "Academics in the Management Sciences Shaping Future Corporate Cultures"--conducted particularly for this Congress--are being presented and discussed.

Conference Tracks

Papers should be submitted to one of the following most appropriate tracks:

1. Corporate social responsibility, 2. Enhancing global managerial responsiveness by intercultural management, 3. Global knowledge management, 4. Public affairs management, 5. Evolution of global management knowledge, 6. Technology and innovations in the global economic geography, 7. Internationalization of accounting (Schmalenbach Business Review track), 8. International corporate governance, 9. Environmental issues and sustainability, 10. Global and local networks, 11. Globalization in the value chain, 12. Transnational strategies, 13. International marketing and service, 14. International corporate finance, 15. International human resource management, 16. Gender issues and diversity management, 17. Teaching and business education in a globalized world.

Submissions should be full paper solely electronic by use of the conference website www.ctw-congress.de/ifsam. Please follow the submission details and instructions on the website. Submissions by fax, mail or e-mail are not accepted.
