Adding to Tony Hunt's ever-growing list of publications of previously unedited medieval scientific works, Old French Medical Texts moves out of Hunt's usual Anglo-Norman terrain to focus on the edition of a selection of medical texts in continental French found in the Wellcome Library for the History and Understanding of Medicine, MS 546. The volume contains editions of (i) a medical compendium (including, most notably, the 'Lettre d'Hippocrate' as wen as excerpts on women's diseases translated from the Trotulan De sinthomalibus mulierum); (ii) a French version of Gilles de Corbeil's De urinis (actually found in the medical compendium edited in the first section, but presented separately); (iii) the only known Old French translation of the 'Four Masters' Gloss' of Roger Frugard's Chirugia; (iv) an abridged Old French version of Jordanus Rufus' De medicina equorum. …
