We have met most of the goals set two years ago at the time of creation regarding the quality of publications. However, we have yet to complete our online submission software platform, which we are still developing. We have given greater priority to those issues which pertain to the quality development and growth of the journal with the aim of striving to new heights. We now pride ourselves in having hundreds of reviewers from more than thirty different countries. In the first two years we have published forty-two papers from sixteen different countries with the participation of eighty-nine authors. We organized and published one special issue on Mobile Commerce, which was guest edited by two well-known m-commerce researchers, Axel Küpper and Jerry Gao.

We are very pleased with the quality of content and presentation of the six issues from our first two volumes, as we have achieved the goals we set for the journal. The next sections will present the reviewer of the year for 2006; thank retiring editorial board members, thank our editorial board and reviewers for their valuable contribution; give a glimpse to the forthcoming special issues, and remember the late Bob Roberts, one of our editorial board members, who suddenly and sadly left us.

I am pleased to announce that the Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research's Reviewer of the Year for 2006 is Dr. Carla Wilkin of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University, Australia. On behalf of the journal, I would like to extend to Carla Wilkin our congratulations on her achievement and our thanks for the contributions she has made to our review process.

Retiring Editorial Board Members

The Journal of Theoretical and Applied Electronic Commerce Research has benefited considerably from the services of three outstanding editorial board members who are retiring this year: Manuel de Jesús Mendes (Universidade Católica de Santos, Brazil), Roland Traunmüller (University of Linz, Austria), and Claudia Engel (Stanford University, USA). Manuel and Roland are retiring from academic life after many successful years of teaching and researching. We wish them all the best in their new life. Claudia is resigning in order to devote more time to her new activities at Stanford University. We wish her the best as she assumes her new responsibilities. New members will take their roles in the new Editorial Board starting in January 2008 and their names and affiliation will be communicated in the issue of April 2008.

Thanking the Editorial Board and Reviewers

The members of the Editorial Board had an active participation in our first two years of the journal. They contributed by suggesting good quality reviewers, setting up the journal's policies, abiding by quality standards, attracting quality research, organizing special issues, and in the diffusion of the journal. …
