EBSCO Releases Several New Discs

Several new CD-ROM reference products have been released by EBSCO Publishing and can be ordered through EBSCO Publishing and EBSCO Subscription Service.

Compact Disc Federal Register is the full text CD-ROM version of the weekly journal produced by the Office of the Federal Register and the Government Printing Office. The service is updated weekly and includes every proposed, interim, and final rule; every agency announcement every funding priority and grant announcement; and every presidential proclamation.

The database is keyword searchable. Searches can also be constructed using a number of specified fields; including: date, agency, rules, and presidential documents. Charts, tables, and diagrams are included and are searchable as well.

Personal Medical Library CD-ROM contains the complete text and images of seven books: Complete Guide to Sports Injuries; Complete Guide to Symptoms, Illness and Surgery; Complete Guide to Prescription and Non-Prescription Drugs; Complete Guide to Pediatric Symptoms, Illness and Medications; Complete Guide to Medical Tests; Complete Guide to Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements (all by H. Winter Griffith, M.D.); and Drugs, Vitamins, Minerals in Pregnancy (by Ann Karen Henry, Pharm. D., and Jil Feldhausen, M.S., R.D.).

The database matches symptoms with illnesses, describes medical tests and procedures, explains and illustrates surgeries (including pre- and post-operative care) and defines vitamin and drug interactions. Nearly 800 images from the Sports Injuries and Symptoms, Illness and Surgery books are also included and are accessible from within associated text.

The keyword searchable database is enhanced by hypertext links within documents to other associated documents (i.e., from technical terms to glossary explanations, from charts to guides that explain the charts, and from primary entries to appendix information). …
