The major psychiatric journals and textbooks will be available on a single CD-ROM from the American Psychiatric Press, Inc. next month.

The program will feature a hypertext edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition. From highlighted words, phrases, codes, and references, the user will be able to go electronically to the related material in several data files established on the most current twelve months of:

* The American Journal of Psychiatry

* The Archives of General Psychiatry

* The Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences

* Hospital & Community Psychiatry

* The American Journal on Addictions

* The American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry

* The Journal of Psychotherapy: Practice and Research

* Academic Psychiatry

* Psychosomatics

* Psychiatric News

These journal files will be in full text plus full page images will also be available to print from a separate disc. Note: the Beta release (test) version available this month will have DSM-III-R text and complete 1992 volumes of the journals. The first final disc will ship when DSM-IV is available and include die issues of the journals to the most recent quarter of 1993.

Available in both DOS Windows and Apple Macintosh, the graphic interface clearly identifies the CD-ROM with DSM-IV and provides hyperlinks to the various data subsets from key DSM-IV terms. …
