The Research Libraries Group (RLG) has announced that its History of Science and Technology database is now the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine database, reflecting the first contributions to this online resource by the Wellcome Library for the History and Understanding of Medicine.

The database now includes the Wellcome Bibliography of the History of Medicine, which itself comprises the cumulated version of Current Work in the History of Medicine together with the Wellcome Library's relevant book accessions since 1991--over 67,000 citations. The library will continue adding references quarterly, amounting to approximately 7,000 to 8,000 journal citations and 1,500 new book citations each year, according to the announcement.

"Current Work in the History of Medicine is one of the foremost international sources of bibliographic information on the history of medicine and allied sciences," said Jeannette Lake, head of bibliographic services at the London-based Wellcome Library. "It strives to keep all those with a scholarly or general interest in the history of medicine abreast of recent work published throughout the world."

The Wellcome citation records represent books, essays, conference proceedings, theses, journal articles, and essay reviews. …
